SOS Center Shares Experiences and Solutions for Preventing and Responding to Environmental Incidents at Industrial Parks in Bac Ninh

Preventing and responding to environmental incidents in industrial zones is not merely a matter of legal compliance; it also requires enterprises to proactively identify risks, prepare resources, and possess the capability to implement pollution control solutions directly at the facility level. This information was shared by the Vietnam Environmental Incident Response Center (SOS) at a conference organized by the Management Board of Bac Ninh City Industrial Zones on September 29, 2026.

The program focused on five key areas: fundamental knowledge regarding environmental incidents; current legal regulations governing incident prevention and response within enterprises; critical issues requiring attention from enterprises operating in industrial parks; practical lessons learned from industrial parks nationwide; and an overview of specialized equipment and materials for incident prevention and response.

Accordingly, the SOS Center shared insights ranging from technical theory to practical applications regarding pollution control solutions and the prevention of and response to environmental incidents directly with businesses at the conference.
This approach ensures that the information provided goes beyond mere regulatory updates; instead, it addresses real-world challenges faced by enterprises—such as identifying potential hazard sources, understanding how incidents might arise, determining which personnel will handle the response, identifying necessary equipment, and outlining how pollution control measures will be implemented.
For industrial zones hosting numerous manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and operations involving chemicals, oil, or other potentially polluting materials, proactive preparation for such scenarios is crucial to limiting the scope and severity of impacts should an incident occur.
Integrating knowledge, equipment, and response capabilities
Practical experience demonstrates that a response plan is only effective when supported by a trained workforce, appropriate equipment, and the ability to coordinate operations on-site.

Consequently, showcasing specialized equipment and materials alongside practical technical demonstrations at the conference enables businesses to better visualize the pollution control process spanning from containment and source isolation to collection, treatment, and post-response waste management.
As a specialist entity in environmental incident response, the SOS Center continues to engage in training, awareness-raising, consulting, and drill activities to help facilities enhance their prevention, preparedness, and response capabilities.
Proactive action by the facility itself is the first step toward minimizing damage should an environmental incident occur.
