NGHI SON OIL SPILL RESPONSE DRILL 2025

  • 7/7/2025 – No one wants an accident to happen, but if it does happen, we must be ready!!! In the Nghi Son sea area (Thanh Hoa), Nghi Son International Port coordinated with the Vietnam Environmental Incident Response Center and interdisciplinary units to organize the 2025 Oil Spill Response Drill.

In the hypothetical situation of an Oil tanker colliding and causing an oil spill at sea, the entire rapid response system is activated. The forces urgently deploy warning, firefighting, zoning, oil spill collection, hazardous waste treatment, victim rescue, and marine environment protection…

Mr. Pham Van Son – Director of Vietnam Environmental Incident Response Center, spoke at the Drill at Nghi Son International Port (Thanh Hoa province)

Speaking at the drill, Mr. Pham Van Son, Director of the Vietnam Environmental Incident Response Center, emphasized: “Responding to oil spills is not only the task of one industry or one force, but also the common responsibility of the whole community. When everyone joins in, we can truly create a solid shield to protect the sea – protect life.”

Nghi Son International Port cooperates with Vietnam Environmental Incident Response Center and interdisciplinary units to conduct oil spill drills

This drill is not only a rehearsal of response procedures, but also demonstrates the proactive spirit and effective coordination between functional forces, contributing to improving incident handling capacity, minimizing damage, and protecting the marine ecosystem, a valuable source of life for millions of coastal people.

Drill to avoid being passive – Act to avoid surprises!
