The Vietnam Environmental Incident Response Center (SOS) has 25 years of experience in:
– Environmental incident response involving oil, chemicals, waste and mixed incidents nationwide. The Center has responded to more than 260 incidents on rivers and at sea, in ponds, lakes, fields, on roads, at storage facilities and ports, in industrial zones, and across lowland and mountainous areas. These incidents have varied widely in scale, nature and complexity. This work is supported by a nationwide network of more than 100 response stations and standby locations equipped with specialized equipment, vehicles and technical personnel;
– Environmental incident response training and exercises. The Center has organized or co-organized more than 800 courses at ministerial, provincial and facility levels in Vietnam, and in cooperation with government agencies and universities in several countries;
– Environmental incident response planning consultancy. The Center has participated in more than 300 projects at ministerial, provincial, sectoral and facility levels, both in Vietnam and internationally;
– Research and development of specialized technologies, solutions and products for incident prevention, response and environmental pollution treatment. Independently and in collaboration with Vietnamese and international experts, the Center has researched, developed, manufactured and commercialized more than 200 new technology products tailored to incident response and pollution treatment under conditions specific to Vietnam.
