26/9/2025 – The Vietnam Environmental Incident Response Center is honored to be the unit selected by the British military ship HMS Richmond to be on duty when it docks at K1 Bridge – Nha Rong Port, Saigon.

Recently, the UK military ship HMS Richmond docked at K1 Wharf – Nha Rong Port (Saigon), and the Vietnam Environmental Incident Response Center (SOS) was honored to be the unit selected to respond to environmental incidents occurring on the river during the ship’s operations.

With its reputation and extensive experience, the SOS Center has met strict standards in the field of environmental incident prevention and response. In fact, for developed countries, especially when a military ship docks at a foreign port, environmental safety regulations are always strictly followed.

SOS Center is implementing anti-oil spill buoys around UK military ship

The selection of SOS is not the first time, this not only affirms the professional capacity but also recognizes the important role of the Center in international cooperation on oil spill prevention. At the same time, it affirms the capacity and proactiveness of Vietnam in responding to environmental incidents in general.

SOS is responsible for ensuring safety and being ready to respond to any incidents 24/7 in the entire area around the ship

This event not only contributes to ensuring absolute safety for the operations of UK military vessels but also clearly demonstrates the international coordination capability of the SOS Center, affirming its pioneering role in protecting the marine environment and preventing incidents in Vietnam.
